Q) Can I host more than one website in my hosting account ?
Ans) On shared hosting plan each website must have its own 1 hosting account. We do offer multiple domains hosting in reseller hosting plans, to host multiple domains, please choose any of the reseller hosting plan.
Q) Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at a later date?
Ans) You can upgrade or downgrade your hosting plan at anytime. For example, you can open your account on some small plan and later upgrade to the higher level plan. If you are in the middle a term, we will prorate the upgrade.
Q) How much space and bandwidth will I need?
Ans) For a small site with not so much traffic. Needs can be fulfilled with 10 to 100 MB of disk space and 1 to 10 GB of data transfer per month. If your web site is text-based, you needn't worry about this technical stuff - text takes almost no space at all - not even really big font sizes! But movies and sound files will cover lot of space and bandwidth. If you're planning to sell something online, look for a provider who can provide you with a commercial web solution such as Shopping Cart software or a secure online payment system. Choosing a large web space with a high bandwidth allowance is a good idea in this case. In this category, 50 MB of disk space or more is advisable. Bandwidth allowance really depends on how many visitors you're expecting and how well you promote your web site. For most sites, 5 to 30 GB should suffice.
Q) What differences are there between Windows Server and LINUX?
Ans) Microsoft Windows Server and LINUX are computer operating systems. Both Windows Server and quality LINUX implementations are enterprise application servers that can be used for a variety of critical purposes, including Web, e-mail, and database hosting but not limited to these only. Windows Server was developed by Microsoft and is, in many ways, the flagship of their software solutions . LINUX's development roots begin about twenty years ago-jointly at Berkeley University and AT&T Bell Labs. LINUX is often referred to as an "open system", which means user is free to do everything whatever he/she wants i.e. its source code is publicly available. This has both its advantages and disadvantages. While it has allowed many thousands of developers from all over the world working for different companies to contribute to its development, it is also more complex and less coordinated. Both of these operating systems make excellent platforms for mission-critical Web hosting, and they function well. There are some differences of the two systems: Windows Server supports most Microsoft products including Microsoft FrontPage - a popular Web authoring tool. Windows Server supports Active Server Pages (ASP) - a popular programming that permits you to build dynamically database-driven web pages (connecting to Microsoft Access or Microsoft SQL server). Remote interactive access, via telnet or SSH is only supported under LINUX. Generally one is able to do more configuration/setup tasks themselves rather than having to request services from web hosts. The majority of existing CGI programs (generally Perl scripts) that are available on the Internet have been developed on LINUX platforms and hence tend to install and operate much more smoothly under LINUX. Many Perl Scripts are FREE! For many websites the operating system on which the Web server is placed is largely inconsequential. The real question arises, "Are you using a specific website or database technology that is more appropriately hosted on Windows Server instead of LINUX (or vice versa)?" If your website does not require specific look offered by LINUX or Windows Server, you can choose either Windows Server or LINUX to serve your website.
Q) What is my IP Address ?
Ans) Our hosting services are on a shared IP infrastructure and the only way to access your services is using your domain name or the temporary URL's provided to you in your account activation email. You can opt for a dedicated IP address by contacting our sales team. There is a charge associated with dedicated IP assignment. Dedicated IP's are really only required when in use with a Dedicated SSL Secure certificate which you can also purchase by contacting our sales team.
Q) Do any of your hosting plans support sub-domains ?
Ans) Yes, each plan includes a different amount of subdomains. Please see windows and linux hosting packages for our hosting plan comparison.
